Ants control

Trails to food, nests in walls and gardens, and winged swarmers. Spraying the trail only kills the workers you can see.

Signs you have ants

  • Trails of ants to sugar, grease or pet food
  • Small piles of soil or sand along skirting and paving
  • Winged ants emerging indoors - a sign of a mature nest
  • Ants farming aphids on garden plants

How we treat ants

We identify the species first - sugar ants, safari ants and carpenter ants need different baits. Gel and granular baits are placed along trails so workers carry them to the queen, collapsing the colony rather than scattering it. Nests in walls and gardens are treated directly.

Before we arrive

  • Wipe trails but do not spray them before the visit - we need the trails to place bait
  • Seal open food and clean up crumbs and spills
  • Note where trails enter the building

Shop-bought sprays often make ant problems worse by splitting the colony into multiple nests. Baiting is slower but finishes the colony.
