Termites control
Mud tubes on walls, hollow-sounding timber and swarms of winged insects after rain. Termites eat structural timber, doors, floors and documents.
Signs you have termites
- Mud tubes running up foundation walls or along skirting
- Timber that sounds hollow when tapped, or crumbles at the surface
- Piles of discarded wings near windows after rains
- Doors and windows that suddenly stick as frames warp
How we treat termites
Killing the workers you can see does nothing to the colony underground. We locate the nest and galleries, treat soil and timber with termiticide barriers, and - for active buildings - use baiting so workers carry treatment back to the queen. Pre-construction soil treatment is also available for new builds.
Before we arrive
- Do not break open mud tubes before the inspection - it scatters the colony
- Move stored timber, cardboard and documents away from walls
- Note where you have seen swarms or damage for the technician
Termite damage is rarely covered by insurance. If you see mud tubes or swarmers, get an inspection before the damage reaches structural timber.
