Mosquitoes control
Bites at dusk, buzzing at night and larvae in standing water. Mosquitoes carry malaria and dengue, and breed in any water that stands for a week.
Signs you have mosquitoes
- Bites especially around ankles in the evening
- Whining buzz near the ear at night
- Wriggling larvae in water tanks, drains, flower pots and puddles
- Adults resting on shaded walls and under furniture during the day
How we treat mosquitoes
We treat resting surfaces and vegetation with a residual insecticide such as Icon 10CS, treat standing water that cannot be drained with larvicide, and advise on the breeding sites to eliminate - blocked gutters, open tanks, discarded tyres and containers.
Before we arrive
- Cover fish ponds and tanks before treatment
- Drain or empty containers holding standing water where possible
- Clear vegetation away from walls so treatment reaches resting sites
Most mosquito breeding is within a few metres of where you are bitten. Removing standing water does half the job; treatment finishes it.
